A Michigan mom remembered as being “pleasant” murdered her two toddlers before fatally turning the gun on herself inside a car, police said.
Nikita Landrum, 31, was identified by police as the mother involved in a murder-suicide behind an industrial building in Bangor Township, news station WDIV reported.
Authorities said Landrum drove her 2-year-old son, Dariel Walker, and 3-year-old daughter, Mikayla Walker, around 100 miles north of their Farmington Hills home.
She shot both kids in the back of the head, then killed herself in the black Lincoln vehicle.
Landrum’s grieving ex-husband did not see any warning signs before the tragic incident, according to news station WBJK.
“It was an absolute and total shock to the family,” Kamal Miller, a family friend, told WBJK.
Neighbors also said that they never expected the woman to gun down her two kids, WDIV reported.
“She always seemed like a pleasant person,” Betsie Jackson told the news station, adding that “from appearances, you would never think something like that was going on.”
